Not all endorsements are equal

LinkedIn Endorsements

  • Anyone can click a button
  • No context or examples required
  • No identity verification
  • Can be gamed or traded
  • Platform owns your reputation

Attestum™ Endorsements

  • Written by verified colleagues
  • Specific examples required
  • Identity verified via Trust Ladder
  • Tamper-proof on blockchain
  • You own your reputation

How it works

1

A colleague endorses your skill

They choose a skill, rate your proficiency, and describe a specific situation where they saw you demonstrate it. 3 minutes.

2

The endorsement is verified and sealed

Their identity is verified. The endorsement is encrypted and recorded on blockchain. It can never be changed.

3

Your skills build up on your Trust Profile

Each endorsement adds to your verified skill profile. "8 people endorse Sarah for React at Advanced level" — with real examples from real colleagues.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from LinkedIn endorsements?

LinkedIn lets anyone click a button — no context, no verification, no proof they ever worked with you. Attestum™ endorsements require the endorser to verify their identity and describe a specific situation where they witnessed your skill. They're sealed on blockchain so neither of you can edit them after the fact.

What skills can be endorsed?

Anything — technical skills (React, financial modeling), soft skills (leadership, communication), domain expertise, and more. The endorser selects a category, rates your proficiency level (Competent → Expert), and provides a specific example from real experience.

Do I need a lot of endorsements for it to be useful?

Even one strong, specific endorsement from a verified colleague carries more weight than a hundred LinkedIn clicks. Over time, aggregated endorsements build a Trust Profile that shows patterns — multiple senior engineers endorsing the same skill at Expert level is a powerful signal.

Is it free to collect endorsements?

Yes. Collecting endorsements is free for both you and your colleague. A small verification fee applies when a recruiter or employer verifies an endorsement — similar to how references work on Attestum™.
